Hi there

Stuck on these two questions.  I am self-learning english with a book that has no answers section.

Fill in the blanks with the correct words taken from the brackets.  My answers are in red-font.

  1. He was (sat, seated) under a tree.  (seated)
  2. She was (lying, laying) on a couch. (laying)

Can someone please check if I am right/wrong?

#1 is right; #2 is wrong.
