hello,

Could anyone help me find the correct phrasal verbs?

In some examples are either a verb or a preposition or a phrasal verb needed.
My suggestions are in bolid.

1. The old man was done ........... his life savings by a confidence trickster.
2. To avoid an argument she fell ............(in with) her husband's plans.
3. He was forced to drop ....................(out) of collage when his father died.
4. Her father laid .....................(into) her when she came late from a party.
5. He ..............(got) his best friend through her divorce.
6. He ....................(set up) a new world record for the 100-metre race.
7. He .......................his fiancee ...................in favour of a rich actress.

thank you

1. out of
2. YES
3. YES.... 'collage'? His father was a realia artist?
4. YES
5. 'got' works, but there is probably a better answer...'See'? hmm...
6. NO! -- Just 'set'. I can't think of a phrasal for here at the moment.
7. threw... over. Maybe.

It wouldn't mean 'break' or 'beat', because it reads 'a new', Yogi. It must be a synonym for 'establish/record/set'. I'm still thinking... and getting nowhere.
