Hello Smile [:)]

Possibly one of my last questions related to this movie (though I'm not sure) Smile [:)]

Captain Sham (Count Olaf) calls the orphans' aunt a "mum".

For example, previously used context:

Captain Sham: Why, without your good grammar, the whole darn shooting match could go *** over tea kettle.

Aunt: Well, you can certainly turn a phrase.

Captain Sham: I can flip it up and rub it down too.  Of course, that would be entirely up to you, mum.

What is it? Count Olaf pretends to be playful?

Hi again,

Possibly one of my last questions related to this movie (though I'm not sure) Smile <img src=" src="/emoticons/emotion-1.gif"> Don't stop, I'm just getting interested.

Captain Sham (Count Olaf) calls the orphans' aunt a "mum".

For example, previously used context:

What is it? 'Mum' has two meanings. First, it's a name that children call their mother. Second, and the meaning here, is it's a slang-y and old-fashioned form of 'Madam', which is a formal way to address a woman.

Count Olaf pretends to be playful? Yes. In addition, although I can't tell without seeing and hearing the context, there may be a veiled sexual reference arising from the preceding phrase flip it up and rub it down.

Tnis is clearly a movie you have to listen carefully to!
