I just watched a movie, and I heard several expressions, can anyone tell me, if I'm correct ?
1) I'm just spitballing : would this be like " I'm just making a suggestion "
2) Ha, ha !! Spare me !! :
would this be like " you're dreaming !! "
3) you need a spot ? :
would this be like " Do you need help? "
4) All anyone ever remembers about ..... :
would this be like " Nobody has forgotten about....... "
Thanks

"Spare me" is usually short for "spare me the details" which means the speaker doesn't want to listen to the whole rigmarole again...

I really need more context for these colloquialisms, gtivan.
1) This may be as in the baseball term-- an illegal pitch-- so perhaps 'an unfair suggestion'?
2) Yes, as the previous poster suggests, 'don't bother to try to fool me with that idea'.
3) This phrase usually means do you need a'place, opportunity, advantage'.
4) People remember only X about the person, place or event, and not Y or Z.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'
