tinanam0102“Hi Yankee,
I'm sorry to interrupt.
Here are a few more:
a piece of cheese/meat/fish/chicken/pie/pizza/bread/toast/chocolate/gum
>Does "some" or "a chuck of" work well with the above foods?
>Do you use a lot of "a piece of" in daily life with food items? Like "I'm going to get a piece of beef/pork"
Thank you.

We do say "a chunk of meat", meaning a large piece. (not chuck)
"Piece of" is very common with food items, and especially with other adjectives.
"Slice of" is used with food we cut into flat strips with a knife when it is served.(
pizza, toast, bread, cake, pie)
I'd like a little piece / slice of pizza.
Give me a nice-sized piece of chicken.
I'd like a thick slice of roast beef.
