I hate it when people use that lousy argument.

So if you're sleeping and your house catches fire and you end up with nasty scars you just have to be content because of god. Please.

I think it's wiser to wait a few years, plastic surgery is still improving. Doing plastic surgery nowadays has a lot of health risk plus the results aren't all that great.

Also I think that people considering plastic surgery should first go to a shrink, just to be on the safe side. Because your insecurity about your body and your wishes to change it can be some mental disorder and not realistic.

I think it is even a plastic surgeon's duty to check if his/hers patients are in the right mind.

For example some scientific survy pointed out that women with *** implants have much higher chance of ending up commiting suicide. That ought to tell you something about what kind of people seek for plastic surgery.

But if you really have a realistic point of view and a sane mind and you wish for plastic surgery, then I would say, go for it. If it makes you a happier person, then why not?

Hi,

I think what Labli said is quite right, but there are cases where it can't be applied, such as those you've mentionned, Frozensmile.

"If we consider physical beauty in its Christian light and if we respect the conditions set by our moral teachings, aesthetic surgery is not in contradiction to the will of God, in that it restores the perfection of the greatest work of creation, man" (Pope Pius XII)--- http://www.cosmeticsurgeryphilippines.com

Yup, I agree with adomi. If someone do a plastic surgery just for making him/her more handsome or beautiful, I don't agree with that. Because we must accept what God has given us. But in the case of having a scar because of fire, I think it will be okay to do a plastic surgery

I have nothing against any religion, but I'm not quite agree with the following part of the quote:

if creation was that much of a great work(what I do not contest at all), I do not think it'll need to be "restored" in any ways, hence two things:
1-either I didn't understand the meaning of the whole quote, in which case I gently request for more explanation
2- or the author of that quote is trying to question GOD's creation, and thinks it isn't perfect. I think that's what religious call  blasphemy

PS: no offense meant

Dear friends,

We may repair our houses and our gardens, no? And it is not irreligious to do so.

May we not then also repair our faces and our bodies? Smile [:)]

Warm regards, Smile [:)]

I don't think 'We must accept what god has given us', as someone has said. If you go to the hairdresser's to have your hair dyed, for example, you are not accepting what god has given to you, and I don't see any problems with it, nor with plastic surgery. Of course I'm not saying it is the same going to the beauty saloon and having plastic surgery, there have been cases of people dying while having plastic surgery, but I've never heard of anyone dying while having his/her hair done.

The only problem with plastic surgery I see, are those people who think their success depends on their beauty, some people think that whenever they fail it is because of a big nose, and when they have it done they realise  that that was not the problem.

We can built our houses, our gardens, with our hands or whatever tool available, can't we? Can we "built", or  create a human face or body?
