For me the interest in writing started at a very young age.  Growing up in a rural community,

there wasn't much to do, so I'd make up stories. My best audience was my mother. She also encouraged me to write. One day she gave me a little diary, and  I spent hours writing in that little book. As a teen I'd read sci-fiction, mysterys, romances and westerns.  I remember a many of summer days, laying on my bed, with my hand under my chin, my eyes glued to the words of Sidney Shelton, Stephen King, Mary Burton or Louis Lamour. Now in my forties, I find I've a new genre to enjoy, paranormal roomance. My faith in God has also lead me to enjoy reading and writing Christain romance.
