Technology is a knowledge of using tools and machines to do tasks more efficiently. No doubt, technology is increasingly important in the modern world. It is amazing how fast technology has been developed. Nearly every major advance was invented in the last century .  As result , our lives are  different from our parents' lives.

       If comparing stories told by our  fathers about their childhood to those of ours, just one generation apart, a lot of differences would be seen. Stories told by our fathers were of their difficulties of lives .For instance , they lived their whole lives in the same village . They rarely went away from home .When they did ,they traveled on camels or horses. They lived  in traditional houses made of mud, wood and chopped straw. They fetched water from wells. Cooking was done on an open fire and lightening was provided by oil lamps. Additionally, when someone was sick , his mother used to make remedies from plants and trees that grew in the area . Besides, the evening entertainment was to sit and listen to stories told by an older member of the family.

      On the other hand , our modern lives is quite different from theirs .First of all ,we live in civilized and modern cities. Second , we have got cars so that we can reach any place easily .Moreover , we can even travel from country to another by a bus, a plane or a ship. Water is easily delivered to our homes because of the invention of pipes and pumps. Nowadays , cooking can be done instantly with ovens, cookers and microwaves. When someone is sick now, his parents take him to the hospital where doctors use technology in taking care of him. The modern entertainment in our lives has many ways and shapes.  For example , there are  televisions , video players , play stations , electronic games and more else.

     In the final analysis ,  I can tell that technology has made our lives better. We can now have a better quality in many aspects of life . Remote controls, laptop computers and cellular phones, which our parents did not had ,  are just a few examples of how technology is able to make life easier and happier.
