Hey guys my paper is on media and democracy, would appreciate any feedback ... THanks :)

As technology in the 21st century continues to advance at incredible rates, media will soon (if it doesn’t already) surround us in every moment of our lives. But do we ever stop to question the implications this may have on citizens and the democratic system as a whole? Do we ever stop to ask what role the media plays in the bigger picture? Naturally we assume that the information age would be democracy’s best friend; however, I would like to question this widespread belief and ask if the media is preserving democracy or killing it slowly before our very eyes? Consequently, mass media and the effects it has on democracy will be the main topic of this essay. The problem I see is that media isn’t fulfilling its role of informing citizens and maintaining a democratic society, I find quite the opposite to be true. I will argue that deregulation of media in recent times negatively affects democracy and the average citizen within society. The purpose of this study is to further address why this occurs, examine any evidence from the field, and later consider what can be done (if anything) to maintain and return to a truly democratic society.

Hey,

It's pretty good, but the thing is the use of the word THE MEDIA, some people use it in the singular and some people in the plural. Ok, I know that MEDIA is plural and the singular is MEDIUM but people use MEDIA as a singular collective noun many times, I myself use it in the singular. So, it'd be better for you to check it out. But I think both forms are gramatically correct in English.
