Hi everybody!

I'm not sure if my sentence is correct or reads good. Could your check it?

It often happens that girls, who were raised in families where pregnancy was always a challenge, expect their own experience to be as frightening and courage-requiring.

 <0}Thanks in advance

Don't use "courage-requiring." It's not at all natural.
