Hi,

I suggest 'one third'. It's a matter of style, but my feeling is that simple fractions of this type are not normally written as 'numbers' in good prose.

4.  To improve retention, you should take notes, and rewrite them immediately after listening.

I understand it's notes but why did you use "them" instead of "it"? I thought it supposed to be "it" as it's not a people or animals. Thanks

Hi,

He picked up the books and put them on the table. Use 'them' for people, animals or things.

You wouldn't say He picked up the books and put it on the table.

Best wishes, Clive

Hi Clive

On May 12th, the company president awarded bonuses to Tyler and I. However we didn’t receive our checks until June 1st.

On May 12th, the company president awarded bonuses to Tyler and me. (I think you overlooked this point. It should be 'me', shouldn't it?)
