(1) "I microwaved my lunch box."

(2) "I heated my lunch box in the microwave."

Please correct these sentences.
Also, which sentence do you think is better, (1) or (2)?
Thank you.

Hi,

(1) "I microwaved my lunch box."

(2) "I heated my lunch box in the microwave."

Please correct these sentences.
Also, which sentence do you think is better, (1) or (2)?

Say 1) "I microwaved my lunch."

(2) "I heated my lunch in the microwave."

Both are OK. We also commonly say, in slang, 'I nuked my lunch', meaning in a joking way that I heated it with 'nuclear power'.

Best wishes, Clive

Thank you for your response.
I haven't known that 'to nuke' means 'to microwave'.
I've heard that it means 'to delete a computer file'.
Does it have a lot of different meanings?

Hi,

In your example, it means 'to completely destroy'. Most times, you'd just speak of deleting a file. 'Nuke' is slangy and mildly humorous.

Hi, thank you for reply.

Turning back to the verbs for the microwave, how about 'warm'?
I came up with the following example after my last post.

"I warmed my lunch in the microwave."

Does this sentence work?

It is ok, but we would usually  say "I heated my lunch in the microwave".
