Wang Luo Bin and his Chinese western folk songs
Mr Wang Luo Bin is a master composing Chinese folk songs. He was called “king of folk song in west china ”since he had composed more than 700 pleasing and melodious folk songs altogether. His "In That Faraway Place" has been beloved by a few generations and spread all around china. However, few knew there was a moving story related to the folk song.
In 1941,Mr Wang with a film group went to Qinghai Province in Northwest china to shoot film. A local Tibetan girl was chosen to play shepherdess in the film.
Young Wang Luo Bin fell in love with that girl at first sight, and always tried to approach to that girl . One time , the girl gave him a flick with the whip on his back playfully when his eyes were always on her.
Film production group was only there for 3 days, and they two had language barriers ,so they never exchanged a word.
Love sparkled in his heart when he left by camel. Therefore, a famous song was created on the back of camel.
In a faraway place, there is a good girl.
Whenever people walk past her yurt, they all turn their heads to look longingly.
I would like to be a little sheep to follow her.
I would like her to brush me lightly with thin leather whip every day.
In 1950s, United States singer Paul Robeson had sung the song so that it flied to all over the world by its wings .By now, the "In That Faraway Place" has became one of the most finest folk songs in the world.
