If they are .bound together., they will both trace out ellipses; if they are .moving apart., they will both follow parabolas or hyperbolas.

Could someone explain me the expressions that I put between points, please?

Hi,

If they are .bound together., they will both trace out ellipses; if they are .moving apart., they will both follow parabolas or hyperbolas.

bound together connected to each other in a way that the connection cannot be broken

moving apart increasing the distance between them

This is more of a language explanation and less of a geometric one.

Best wishes, Clive
