Hi, my friends!
I put one of my essays in the following. Would u please read it and give some comments on logic, grammar and word choice?
Thank u in advance Smile [:)]

issue:

In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it ones was. People can learn as much as watching television as they can by reading books.

my response:

Are books becoming relatively unimportant in the age of television? Even though television propogates imformation faster, reading book is still of great value today, because books describe facts more precisely, analyze topics more insightful, and serves as the foundation of literature.
Books provide more precise information about certain facts. According to common sense, it would take books reader much more time to read about a certain person or event than that a audience would spend on watching TV programs about the same thing. Consequently, unlike television which targets at delivering the audience the general information concerning a person or event within the shortest possible time, books are often caplable of providing more complete information and precise description about the person or event. For example, two years ago, when Chinese people recovered from the diaster of SARS, there were many TV programs or books reviewing the unforgettable passing seven months. What we saw on the TV program was no more than operation room, patients, doctors and officers in public health minitry. On the other side, we could find much richer information in books concerning this issue, from first case found in Guangdong to first death in Peking, from the origin of the virus to the treatment of disease, from withhold of information at the beginning to the public awareness of it finally. In this way, book provides us wider range of information than TV does.
Additionally, books contain more insightful views. Because most TV programs' audience are usually common people, what they can provide audience is just superficial understanding or introduction of a specific topic. However, book writers could focus on a small portion of people with sufficient knowledge and prefessionl skills, and therefore could discuss the topic more deeply and thoroughly. For instance, while there is only one TV program on Discoery Channel about the special thoery of relativity which lasts about 30 minutes, there are more than 30,000 papers published on this field each year and there are usually more than 500 books about the Einstein's important theory found in every university's libarary. As a result , if we want to achieve deep and insightful understanding and knowledges on a specific field, we have to read books.
Furthermore, books are the base of literature. Everyone who have both seen the movie and read the book of Harry Potter would agree on the point that the reading the novel is much interesting than watching the film on TV or cinema. According to personal experiences, there is something of great importance in the book that can not be express in the movie or on TV play - the beauty contained in literature has gone.
In sum, I concur that TV speeds up the pace that people recieve the informtaion. Nevertheless, it has its disadvantages; TV programs cannot be precise and insightful because its limited time and knowledge of audience. Besides, TV programs cannot perserve all the elements in literature as books do. Therefore, in the future, even if the television becomes extinct, we will still be able to find books everywhere.

So you would be Dominik from Koln ? Nice meeting you..
I've tried reviewing part of your text : addition or changes in purple, removals with the # sign. Plus question mark on 'insightfully' : you're supposed to use an adverb here but I don't think there is one derived from the adjective insightful. And question mark on 'unforgettable' : not sure whether it means 'so great you cannnot forget it' or 'so bad you cannot forget it'...
