People can have a mental breakdown - meaning that they become very sick and irrational   sky rocketed -go up and up and up very fast (like a rocket going to the sky) Stoned -  in a mental state under the influence of drugs (high).  down the line - later AD 343 - AD stands for anno domini (the year of the Lord), it means the year Christ was born.
