Is it more important to be able to work with a group of
people on a team or to work independently?
Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.
There are many ways to accomplish a goal. You can work by yourself or you can work with
other people as a team. In my
perspective, I believe that working with a group of people on a team will make
it easier to attain a goal.
Consequently, it is more important to be able to work as a team for these
reasons.
First, we do not live in this world alone. Some problems can be solved by one person,
while others can be solved only by cooperating of many people. For example, regarding Global Warming, it is
a world’s issue. All people in every
country should pay attention to this matter and work together in order to save
the world.
Second, a person can not be keen on everything. There is a term in Economics that is “Specialization”. It means that a person will be capable of
doing one task better than other tasks. For
example, suppose you are an interior designer and you would like to have a
party. Therefore you will be responsible
for decorating a venue because you know that you are good at it. While your friend is a good cook. Thus you ask him to be in charge of food. If you are able to work with other people
with different specializations, then, I believe, the outcome will be good.
Last, working with a
group of people on a team leads to more understanding and cooperation among the
group. For Instance, when I was a new
employee of a company, I did not know my colleauge much. We had to work as a group to do one
project. I spent my time with them nearly a month until
we finished the project. Therefore I then
became close with them and we are good friends until now.
For these reasons, it is very important to be able to work with
other. Especially in order to deal with
difficult matters such as Global Warming and Economic Meltdown, we have to
cooperate and work as a team rather than work independently.
