Could you please, help me with the following?

"He was a clerk in his cousin's art dealers in England" = What's the meaning/idea of the underlined words, considering the context, please?

"He only painted in bold colours" = Is it mean that he only painted in black and white?

  Thanks,

  Verena

Hi,

Could you please, help me with the following?

"He was a clerk in his cousin's art dealers in England" = What's the meaning/idea of the underlined words, considering the context, please?

He worked as a clerk in the office of the art dealer who is used by his cousin.

"He only painted in bold colours" = Is it mean that he only painted in black and white? No. It means stong, vivid colours. eg not pastels.

Best wishes, Clive
