I would like to make the following paragraph grammatically correct and understandable as we read. It does not sound smootly. Will someone help me with it? Thank you much for your help.

Repairing the fountain will be in the City’s best interest because the square is the center of City businesses and various activities. The area that the iron fountain currently located is the home of ABC Christmas Tree during the winter holiday season. The fountain serves as a poll to hold the tree. It can be turned off for Christmas celebration, and it turned back on in the summer for promoting a relaxing environment. Other alternatives such as replacing the existing fountain with a clock tower or a gazebo would take away the location for the Christmas tree which has become a tradition for the City.
