Please kindly see whether I have wrong understanding to these sentences.
Case: My teacher has commented my outline and since I am too busy recently. She might have thought that I would not read her message. And now there are two sentences which I wish to tell my teacher:

1. Don't worry, I haven't wasted your effort; I have read your comment already. (this sentence used "I haven't", means that I have not wasted your effort from the time I read your comment until now and still continuing "un-wasting" it?)

1. Don't worry, I didn't waste your effort; I have read your comment already. (this sentence used "I didn't", means that I have not wasted your effort in the time I read your comment.  But maybe wasting it now?)

Sorry , I know this is kind of immature to ask this. But it is all because I seldom have chance to practice my English in my daily life, so I don't really able to make my mind clear.

Million thanks

It sounds like to me that that the word "effort" should have the word "time" substituted for it. Who wrote it?  Did you write it?  Did the teacher write it?  What you are asking seems confusing.
