hair itself. Some people say "hairs" & that is wrong.

Don't you use 'hairs' when you want to refer to hair strands as individual objects in a group, as opposed to the whole of someone's hair?
As in 'I have split hairs'.

i have been looking everywhere on the web
but i think 
you know how deer is same plural and singular same with fish
i think this is one of those kind of nouns
