Hallo
I have tried to rephrase a paragraph below. How else can I do it?
"The coach never changed the fresher's natural style. But he only finetuned it.He helped him to develop the right kind of temperament for the game."
The coach never interfered with the original[or individual, own] way the beginner played the game.He only streamlined his technique....[I can't do the last line because I don't know how to rephrase temperamnet.]
thank you.

The young man had an intuitive feel for the game, which the coach developed, whilst assisting him to adopt the correct attitudes.
