its funny how some people think its easy to write. The thing bout writing a song is the whole emotion about it. You first need to pick your title....something catchy rite. then from the title u write tyhe chorus. Then from the chorus u write the lyrics. ofcourse it dosnt need to  always go in that order. But it is a guideline to follow. most important thing in a song. Emotion. In order to really capture an audiencce or the person u are singin for.....u need them to feel wat u are singin. Writing a song for some people can take 5 monutes others it wan take awhile. After u write it though rember then there is the music behind it. So while your writin it u want some sortta beat. so good luck.

Never get stressed about writing a song. You cant force out words, they come out. And don't be afraid of being embarrased about singing about something. If you want to sing about something get out and sing it loud and clear and dont care what anyone says. There you go, i've wrote the song for you! Big Smile [:D]

the only pointer you can giv anyone is think of a tittle tht you like then sit and think about what the tittle could mean e.g if the song was called "im going home" then think y r you goin home what could of happened.do the chrous first and write tht on the tittle e.g

you cant stop me from leaving
im never gonna stop beleiveing
i promises you i wont moan
youve had your chance and now...
im goin home

its not tht gd but it was 3 seconed work lol

then when you have the chrous the verse should be the build up to the chrous.
if you need anymore advice  i hope ive helped ***

Hi i do not really agree with one comment (keep songs from being cheesey) some of the most played songs are incredibly cheesey! i just came back from my holiday's in Turkey and they played what can only be called party dances everynight! these songs where so catchy and i still find myself humming them now ( i even remember the lyrics, sign of a great song) anyway i bought a cd with the songs on it here is a list: the purple people eater, the old camp fire, the mimic man,the mexican wave, the court of king caractacus, the best dance of all time, the caribbean way, oodoo the voodoo man etc.

I have information on the artiste it turns out they are all sung by Rik Gaynor i have found three web sites where you can hear these songs free of charge: www.myspace.com/rikgaynormusicandlyrics  www.rikgaynorproductions.co.uk  www.myspace.com/rikandnikofficialfanclub  there is a version on one of these sites of the Benny Hill theme tune but with lyrics (very interesting) hope all this helps with your writing, and don't be afraid of cheese lol.

It's easiest to write songs about something that you know in life, like friends, emotions, and incidents in your life, just as long as you keep a fast-paced beat, and make it fun for the listeners, too!
