I have come accross many posts which mention the email ID/ MSN ID/ICQ no. They are mostly from new users. As far as I know personal contact info should be in profile. I would like to know how to report these posts.

Regards,

Hello, Mithunbarik,

Yes, you are right: personal contacts should be included in a profile. But we have so many new posts with MSN, ICQ, email addresses that we just can't look through them all, unfortunately. Some contact lines get deleted, some don't. Well, let's say those which haven't been deleted are 'production costs'. Wink [;)]

I understand that it is very difficult to go through all posts to check email IDs. In my opinion those MSN, ICQ etc can be ignored if they are not meant for commercial purpose. Another option is to increase the no. of moderators.

Well, it hardly harms the forums to include them. I think the thought is that we are trying to protect people from themselves - if they post their e-mail, they may not realize that they are opening themselves up to spam. But you don't really need to report them - they have made the choice to do it. On the other hand, please DO report posts that are obviously advertising.
