How is the prefix "piezo-" (as in "piezoelectric") pronounced? I've always pronounced it as in "pie", but in fact I've only heard it like that twice, both times to a native speaker (one American, one English). Most people (including native and non-native speakers) don't say it like that. I cannot think of any word with the same sound they use (in my word of only five vowel sounds, I could describe it as the vowel in "pig" followed by the wovel in "pet", do you get the idea?)
