Hi, please tell me what I should do. I seem to see a lot of cases where the preposition 'on' is omitted when the phrase 'Sunday night' or any day with the word 'night' is involved.

1. It can help (to??) develop their confidence.
2. We will meet (on??) Sunday afternoon/Sunday morning/Sunday night.
3. It happened (on??) Saturday afternoon/Saturday morning/Saturday night.
4. Best not (to??) work on this.
5. He ruled (in??) China in ***.
6. Stop them (from??) being abnoxious.

Additional question: what does it mean?
 eat the Passover

.
All of the prepositions in your sentences are optional except #5-- the preposition is inappropriate there.

eat the Passover Passover is a Jewish festival (traditionally 8 days) celebrating the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. Through Moses, God told the Israelites to prepare a special meal to be eaten in haste the evening before their escape from Egypt (see Exodus), with a whole roasted lamb as the main dish.
