When i use present progressive for a future event and i have to put this into reported  speech, how is the time changed before and after the event?

Example:
I met Tom yesterday. He said:
"They are getting married next month"

The next day i tell someone:

Tom told me that.....

Two months later i tell someone:

Tom told me that......

When i use present progressive for a future event and i have to put this into reported  speech, how is the time changed before and after the event?

Example:
I met Tom yesterday. He said:
"They are getting married next month"

The next day i tell someone:

Tom told me that..... they are/were getting married next month. (or 'this month' if he told you on the last day of the month. Smile [:)])

Two months later i tell someone:

Tom told me that......
they were getting married the following month.

Best wishes, Clive

Personally I would say:

Yesterday Tom told me they will be getting married next month.

Two months ago Tom told me they would be getting
married the following month.
