Hello , everyone . I am Sophiel from Suzhou (a city near shanghai) , China .

I have bright skin and big eyes compare to majority of chinese girls . and Chinese think this kind of girl are beautiful .

But it is said that people from other countries( esp. EU and US) think beautiful Chinese girl should have dark skin and very little eyes , such as Lucy Liu who play in Charlie's Angels.

Is it there anyone could tell me if it is true ...? It seems i will be an ugly girl when i go abroad ...

Hi! I'm from Australia-actually I'm chinese, but I've been here for so long that I consider myself more of an Australian then a Chinese. Anyway replying to your post, people from other contries often have a sterotypical view of the way chinese people look and the way they act. So probably it is true. btw nobody will consider you ugly, sure you see Lucy Liu in movies-dark skin, small eyes but who really cares? oh yeah, someone is just going to criticize your appearance because aren't an exact replica image of Lucy Liu.

Hi Sophiel. I think that it all depends on whether your features "fit in" well together. Just because a Chinese girl has dark skin and small eyes it doesn't necessarily make her either beautiful or ugly. The same applies to girls with bright (did you mean lightly coloured?) skin and larger than average eyes. You have to see the face as a whole. Also, it really is just a matter of taste at the end of the day. I personally think that Lucy Liu isn't particularly good looking, but many people think she's beautiful.
If you are considered beautiful by most Chinese people, then I'm sure that you will be considered as beautiful outside China too.

Hi My Name is Matthew Borg and I am from Malta, and I have meet some Chinese’s and Japanese’s girls here in Malta as they come to study English, But I don’t care very much how they look the best thing was that we had a great time. I took them around Malta I we had such a great time under the sun! I Really miss them now as most of them are away now. They where very friendly and kind to me. I am very looking forward again to meet some other friendly Asian people here in Malta!! Or Asian people coming to study English here in Malta!!! i am also chinese. i've got dark skin and small eyes but i dont see myself as beautiful. but then everyone has their own special way of being beautiful. and so you are beautiful in that you are unique. i live in england and well there are not that mant chinese people here, but even though i dont fit the normal build or have the english beauty i am still accepted into the society. i am sure that you are as beautiful if not even more beautiful than the person next to you, just have confidence and you shall go a long way. anyway, you should be proud of what God has given you and if you dont judge others, others wont judge you.
