I found this idiom in Ramona Book and I don/t understand the meaning , please help me

"Pretty please with a lump of sugar on it"

She said when she ask her mother to tell her some secret

She is cajoling her mother to tell her something.

"Please" is the basic.
"Pretty please" = please please please (emphasises please).
"Pretty please with a lump of sugar on it" = I really really would like...

It carries no "meaning" but indicates how much Ramona wants to know the secret.
