Opera (8.5 version). Is it the reason of the problem?

I'm glad to help, but I'm not a native! And please excuse my typos...

I'm doing exactly what you are saying... Smile [:)]  But it's working properly only when I'm looking at preview. Well, I think I just won't use it... And that's all. Thank you for attending to my problem. I suppose you have already gotten bored with me. Sorry...

No, it's OK!  Smile [:)]  But you are trying to use the emoticons from the list above the message box, are you? (not from the list under it?)

Edit: Ruslana, I've edited your previous message again, inserted a space after the emoticon, and look: it works!

Smile [:)] Actually, I'm writing it by hand. I mean, I'm writing all the symbols ":" and ")" and brackets (and spaces) using my keyboard. Must I copy the emoticons from the list under the message box? I've just copied it from the list under! And I see the same result... How many spaces must I leave to see it working??? I've left one, two, three spaces, no spaces, I've used russian and english types. And nothing can help it! I'm about to cry... :'-((((

I think the list below is for putting smileys at the thread subject, not in the message.

I've edited your message here, and inserted a space a the beginning of the first line, and it works. What can I tell you? Drop the emoticons?  Sad [:(]

Is it the way I must follow to see the emoticons?

A space, then [, then the emoticone I want to put in, then ] and then a space again.

Right? If it is, then my "spaces" don't "work" because they are "spoiled". And I'm afraid I'll have to drop the emoticones in spite of my will...

I see that after you've edited my messages it looks fine. Thanks. But I don't understand why I can't manage this work myself. Unfortunatelly.
