Pieanne, I don't demand the answer of you. I just tell THANK YOU you've tried to help! :-)

By the way, when you edited my post here about an hour ago, was there a space after the first emoticone (called "I don't know smiley")?

I guess I did (I inserted 2 spaces for 2 emoticons, one for each).

I'm glad to help, but I'm not a native! And please excuse my typos...

Then I don't imagine why some of my spaces disappear and other don't... If I write just [] , then the space after doesn't disappear. You see. But as soon as I insert any emoticon into the brakets <img src="/emoticons/emotion-6.gif" alt="Sad [:(]" /> , it fails.

I've noticed that the emoticons work properly even if I don't leave a space before and after when I use Internet Explorer. Just look at this!Thinking [8-)]

And there is one more thing I've noticed. If I copy the emoticon from the window that opens after I click the link Emoticons, I needn't write brakets because it works without them.Geeked [8-|]

That's unbelieveable sistem of emoticons and BBCode, I must say! Because it either works fine whatever I do or doesn't work at all whatever I do.Devil [6]Devil [6]Devil [6]

Pieanne, hello!

You know, I have decided to use Explorer if I want to paste emoticons and BBCode... As I see I have no choice... Next to nobody answers the question about my problem... Next to nothing is possible to do as I understand... To be frank, it makes me sad...

So I see, Ruslana!   Crying [:'(]  But your message seems to show an emprovement...

What does the word "emprovement" mean? I can't find any translations. Do you mean "improvement"? Well, that's because I am using Internet Explorer now. In despite of my will...

I'm using Opera 8.5 and having difficulty with BBCode. if I use the code for italics, I get the emoticon of a light bulb - yet I have turned off emoticons in my preferences. Methinks it is something to do with Opera, no?

here's a test. The words in the sentence below should be in italics, the bold, then underline:

I want to be able to <img src="/emoticons/emotion-55.gif" alt="Idea <i>" />italicise</i> words, then use <img src="/emoticons/emotion-22.gif" alt="Beer <b>" />bold</b> if I want, and finally <img src="/emoticons/emotion-50.gif" alt="Broken Heart <u>" />underline</u> key words.

Here's how it all posts! Any comments, folks?

In an effort to solve my own problem, I've logged in via Firefox, and this looks much better. I think I have the same problem with my blog at blogspot - the Opera browser doesn't seem to be able to cope with the BBCode.

Here's my test again:

I want to be able to italicise words, then use bold, if I want, and finally underline key words.

I can't do this using codes, I HAVE to use the keys in the editor. Sigh.
