The profits of Prince Charles's organic farm go to charities to help the poor and the sick.

Hi,
For a start, is the "s" at the end of "Charles'" optional or must it be deleted?
Second, is it correct to interpret "go to" in the base sentence as "are given to?" Thanks.

.
1-- The '-s'  after a singular noun ending in '-s' is now generally accepted, and even preferred by some stylists.  Keep it.
2-- Yes.
