Hello Friends,

I received a Promotion this week. The best part about it was, I was not expecting one.  Not for another year atleast!  Now my dilemma is whether I should send an e-mail or a Thank you Letter to my Manager.  Either way I feel I should acknowledge the promotion some how.  Here is a sample of what I would like to say, any additional input would be greatly appreciated!!

Dear Mr. Smith,

Allow me to express my sincere gratitude for the career advancement given me. I am very grateful and honored to accept this promotion.

I want to thank you for the expression of faith in my abilities that you have exhibited by this gesture, and will certainly do my very best not to disappoint you and our colleague's. I am looking forward to continuing my responsibilities and I assure you that I will definitely be an asset for ABC Corporation.

Thank you so much.

Respectfully yours,
XYZ
