How do you pronounce Jason Statham?

Does anyone know the British pronunciation of  Jason's surname?

Is it "stuh-thum"  like  what most American  trailers would say, or "stay-thumb" like what most people say?

Thanks.

The first part is pronounced as /stei/ and last part is pronounced as the weak form of 'them'. The 'th'-part might change a bit, that is, it may be pronounced with a fortis dental fricative, as in 'THink' or as its counterpart, with a lenis dental fricative, as in 'THe'.

Hope you got it, I know it would have been easier to post the pronunciation with a straightforward phonemic transcription; however, I have never managed to post them so that other people would see them too.

Hi Zerox,

You can copy and paste them from other webpages, e.g.

Last time I did this, someone said s/he can't see them. However, I see the ones you posted.
Just for fun then, Statham is pronounced as /steiθəm/ or /*ðəm/.

One thing though, that "ei" from 'stei", does that sound like "ey"?

If it does, then that makes statham sound like this "steythum", right?

The symbols above are unicode characters. The majority of the browsers including IE6, IE7, Firefox, Safari and Opera should have no problem displaying them.  I am not sure about IE5 because I can't find any around to test it.
