How is Ss pronounced? For example: "four Ss"?  four [siz]?

Which is the correct form? P's or Ps, S's or Ss? Thanks.

There's another section where you should post pronunciation questions.

Four S's:  fore essiz
P's,  S's.

Thanks.

When we say that this chair belongs to the boss. This is boss's chair. Is "boss's" the correct form? I learned that if a word ends in an S, there is no S following the apostrophe in the word's possessive case. But I often see cases like "boss's". I wonder which is the correct form of the possessive case. Whichever is the rule, does it apply to both nouns and proper nouns? Thanks

This is the boss's chair. Is "boss's" the correct form? Yes. I learned that if a word ends in an S, there is no S following the apostrophe in the word's possessive case.  That's only true for plurals.  Singulars add 's in virtually all cases. But I often see cases like "boss's". I wonder which is the correct form of the possessive case. Whichever is the rule, does it apply to both nouns and proper nouns?  Yes.  There is nothing different about the rules which hinges on whether the noun is common or proper.
