I would like you to help me with this one. How do you produce the endings with -ton, and -tain, like in Trenton,Quinton, mountain and fountain. Please I'd like specific information on how to pronounce those ones.

Regards.

At most, pronounce them with the schwa (as in unaccented 'the'). Many people just glide from one /n/ to the other /n/ with as little vowel as possible, more like a glottal stop.  Varies, I'm sure, by area.

The typical American pronunciation of "ton"/"tain" after an "n" is with unreleased "t" and syllabic "n", which is just another way of saying what Philip already explained.

An alternate pronunciation is with a neutral unaspirated "t", a schwa, and a consonantal "n".  This would probably be the form used for announcing the news of the day on TV or radio.
