This is part of a resume, and I need to know the proper usage of the following:

A.  Responsible for all account receivables for client billing

B.  Responsible for all accounts receivable for client billing

C.  Responsible for all accounts receivables for client billing

I think it is A, since when you describe the "action" of what you did, it describes handling "receivables"  However I have different people telling me different things.  Can anyone help?

Hi,

This is part of a resume, and I need to know the proper usage of the following:

A.  Responsible for all account receivables for client billing

B.  Responsible for all accounts receivable for client billing

C.  Responsible for all accounts receivables for client billing

I think it is A, since when you describe the "action" of what you did, it describes handling "receivables".  Of the 3 choices you offer, on grammatical and logical grounds I'd say 'accounts receivable'. Consider that you have 3 customers. Each has a separate account. Thus, you have 3 accounts. They all owe you money, which is 'receivable'. Hence, say 'accounts receivable'.

However, you may occasionally encounter the other terms in the business world. Google gives -

account receivables - 241,000

accounts receivable - 18,800,000 hits

accounts receivables - 1,200,000 hits

However, for your resume, I'd word your phrase a little differently. Responsible for client billing and accounts receivable. I think these two are often treated as two separate functions.

Best wishes, Clive
