Hi,

Is there a case when proposition(noun) and proposal (noun) have the same meaning and interchangeable?

If yes, please give me examples

If not, how can we distinguish them?

This is the only case when they are interchangeable:
---------
proposition

b : something proposed or offered for consideration, acceptance, or adoption : PROPOSAL <the proposition to extend the ... act spurred him to a defense of ... institutions -- S.H.Adams>

Hi,

1/His proposal that the system should be changed was rejected.

=His proposition that the system should be changed was rejected. ?

2/ To submit a proposal =  To submit a proposition.  ?

3/ I'd like to put a proposition to you. =I'd like to put a proposal to you. ?

Why?
