Hi everybody.... I have some problems with punctuation.....Do I need a comma in the following sentence?
By the middle of the twentieth century, England witnessed a sudden increase in immigration. Is this comma ok?

And another question: Is it ok to say move into a country? p.e. in the following sentence:

All those people seemed to have forgotten that they were moving into a country threatened by warfare and were thus very disapointed about the encountred situation.

Hope the rest of my sentences is also correct, or if not someone could tell me Smile [:)]

Would be great if someone could help me...Thank you.... Smile [:)]

Hi,

Yes. I'd put a comma there, because of the length of the phrase.

And another question: Is it ok to say move into a country? p.e. in the following sentence:

All those people seemed to have forgotten that they were moving to a country threatened by warfare and were thus very disapointed about the situation they encountered.

What does 'p.e.' mean?  Please edit?

Best wishes, Clive
