Hi EG guys,

Can you please explain me, what "pure paycheck" means in the next article..

But it's not exactly a fair question -- Hollywood generally only gives pure paycheck jobs to actors who are popular enough that they will bring large audiences in to watch a movie and, thus, justify the big paycheck. Downey has been too on-the-outs to get a pure paycheck job for a long time.

Please what is pure paycheck job?

many thanks in advance.

Hi,

I haven't seen this expression before. Here's my understanding of it.

A pure paycheck deal is 'You do this work and I give you this amount of money'.

A deal that is not pure paycheck sounds like the amount of money is conditional on the success of the movie. eg I'll give you 1% of the net profit, or perhaps 2% of all net  profit over $10 million.

Best wishes, Clive
