Hi,

The purse is the term used to refer to the money that the winner of the fight will receive.

 

The term is also used in horse racing.

No. The "purse" in a prize fight is the money the winner gets.


Update:

The term "purse money" is not normally used, it's just "purse" as in "Tonights fight has the largest purse ever seen in this venue." I have no idea why the writers chose to use a non-standard expression.
