Hello,

1. She put her socks.

This sentence was guven to a boy to correct it. I told him that correct form is-

2. She puts on her socks.

But the boy told that his teacher told that the correct form is-

3. She puts her socks.

Which one is correct between (2) and (3)?

#3 is just wrong.

It can either be "She put her socks on" or "She put on her socks" for past tense, or just replace "put" with "puts" for present. (Or She put them on, but not She put on them.)

I suppose she could also have put her socks in the drawer, but she needs to do something with them - just "She put [anything]" is incomplete.
