Hello,

I am just trying to find the opposite of "qualities" talking about personality.

My first idea is "shortcomings" but I can't find a dictionary to back me up. I always find "flaw" or "fault" but they sound wrong...

Can anyone help me?

Thanks a bunch!

Qualities can be good qualities or bad qualities.  There is no opposite for qualities per se -- unless it is quantities.

Maybe: qualities <=> foibles

Sometimes people talk about 'strengths' (good qualities) and 'weaknesses' (bad qualities).

For instance,

His patience is a strength. It is one reason why he is such a good teacher.

She gets angry very quickly. Her temper is a weakness.

I know it is too late but after a long search I have found it

qualities <=> frailties
