Not having seen each other much at the weekend, THEY needed some quality time together ..

i think you need to introduce the idea that there is more than one of them b4 you you get to "together" ... adn the diff between he and him is not clear enough

using he and him is always confusing cos it can sound like the same person unless you distinguish the characters in some other way

Yeah, now I have just realised that subject concordance was needed! Thanks a lot for your comment.

What does "quality time" means ??!

It can mean 'uninterrupted time' with another/others, when you can converse verbally and/or physically without the danger of interruption. A time to get to know each other better. A bonding time with your spouse or child. A time we should all treasure.

qualty time is a relatively new bit of jargon, and it intersts me

it reflects our social sense of being "very busy" and needing to mark out relaxation periods or time for our families. This is partly to do with parents who work realising they dont see much of their kids, it also seems to have come out of the divorce rate rising, and some parents not seeing much of their kids for that reason ..

and it has spread to other relatioships, not just parent -child
