Neil can't .. tennis. He's broken his arm.

a.to play
b.playing
c.play

What is the correct answer?
I think b , because in the second sentence we have present perfect simple and it comes with present progressive ...

Thanks

Hi,

Neil can't .. tennis. He's broken his arm.

a.to play
b.playing
c.play

What is the correct answer?

C. With 'can', you need the base form of the verb.

eg We say 'I can speak English', but not 'I can speaking English'.

Best wishes, Clive

Are you really?
That's mean always i have "can" in the sentence after it will come "verb with base form without matter which time is it ?"

Thanks.

Hi,

I was speaking of the type of sentence you gave us.

You can say 'can' with other tenses, eg He can have cooked dinner. eg He can be cooking dinner.

Try to write a few more sentences, and I'll comment on them for you.

«That's mean always i have "can" in the sentence after it will come "verb with base form without matter which time is it ?"»

If you want to put it into another tense, that should be encoded in the form of "can":
«When I was young I could type 300 symbols per second», "type" is in the base form.

The above should be:

That's mean always I have "can" in the sentence ...

In English we always write 'I' .

In French and Russian you could write in simple letters.

я  [ ya]    [ Russian]

Je   [ French]
