Hi,
Neil can't .. tennis. He's broken his arm.
a.to playb.playingc.playWhat is the correct answer?
C. With 'can', you need the base form of the verb.
eg We say 'I can speak English', but not 'I can speaking English'.
Best wishes, Clive
I was speaking of the type of sentence you gave us.
You can say 'can' with other tenses, eg He can have cooked dinner. eg He can be cooking dinner.
Try to write a few more sentences, and I'll comment on them for you.
Clive
The above should be:
That's mean always I have "can" in the sentence ...
In English we always write 'I' .
In French and Russian you could write in simple letters.
я [ ya] [ Russian]
Je [ French]
Rotter: Are your joking by pointing out the least serious mistake in the sentence? BeginStudent: That sentence is not very correct, and we'll be glad to help you imrove it if you have no ideas of what can be wrong with it ;)
