Hello everyone~!

I have three questions about the meaning of words in some sentences.

If there is anybody who knows the possible answers and tell me, it would be appreciated a lot.

Thanks in advance!

pb

The   questions are as follows:

1.

Q: In the following sentences, what do you think the words "rewards" and "it" refer to and what possible interpretion they are?

And are the "rewards" and the very next sentence(which is underlined) represent the same meaning or

are they telling about different things?

I mean, could the sentence be the content of "the rewards"?

ex)

"This paperwork will require the families to go see a doctor. Will require the families to get legal clearances from police, FBI, the state police and a child abuse and neglect tracking system. And once the family has undergone all of those reviews and a social worker has met with them at least two to three times.  The social work agency or adoption agency decides, 'yes or no this parent can adopt or not'."

Despite the obstacles, new parents' like Krista and Dan Verr say the rewards of international adoption are worth it. And for the children, it gives many of them a loving, nurturing environment for the first time in their young lives.

2.

What is the meaning of the word "signature" in this context?

ex)

At first glance, Rupert Jee's "Hello Deli" looks just like the many other sandwich shops on just about every street corner in New York. "Instead of being a strictly local deli place, now we are pretty much international. I get people from all over the world coming to have a sandwich here."

The deli's signature sandwiches are not the only draw. Many people come just to meet Jee.

3.

What is the words "top finishers" refer to and meant?

The story is about the Tour de France.

ex)

The UCI tests every rider in the Tour for banned substances prior to the race. Various cyclists are tested after every stage. And after the race the winner and top finishers are again tested.

The rewards are whatever rewards anyon takes from parenthood. The "it" is part of the standard phrase "is worth it," referring to all the of the trials and tribulations of the adoption process as described right before it.

A restaurant's "signature" dish (in this case, a signature sandwich) is what people know it for. If I opened a resaurant and had a certain chicken dish that was just wonderful, Chicken a la Grammar, that would be my signature dish.

The people who finished in the top places - first, second, third - I don't know how many they test, but they start with the winner and then the people who followed
