BBC reporters recorded, while making a documentary soon to be aired, a British National Party candidate for office saying 'Islam is a wicked and vicious religion. All I want to do is shoot Pakis'. The extremist right-wing group is in some degree of hot water already, over this and other racist beliefs commonly held by BNP members and leaders, as revealed by the BBC.

The documentary has already been shown. The remarks about Islam were made by the Party leader. The desire to commit mass murder was expressed by a Party member. The remarks about Islam are not likely to be held as actionable because Islam is a religion, not a race, and there is no UK legislation prohibiting attacks on religions.
The members who expressed violent views have been expelled from the Party. Not that it will make much difference. The BNP fill that niche on the right of British politics where it's so obvious what they stand for they rarely need to express it. The Party occupying that niche has changed its name every few years and we still know what they stand for. The personnel remain largely unchanged.

Fine. Not when I heard the news report it wasn't, but that's of no matter.
"The remarks about Islam were made by the Party leader."

Not the way I heard it, but it only makes it worse the way you report the news story.
"The desire to commit mass murder was expressed by a Party member."

Kewl. No need to jump on my bones, I was expressing my disdain for racism, certainly not for the English people.
"The remarks about Islam are not likely to be held as actionable because Islam is a religion, not a race, and there is no UK legislation prohibiting attacks on religions."

Nor should there be, this American says.

I was simply reporting a news item I heard: an encouraging one, I thought. Shoot me down if you like, I'm happy as Larry.

Note that had he said that all he wanted to do was shoot Paks, it would not have been racist.

He and Evie soon fell into a conversation of the "No, I didn't; yes, you did" type conversation which, though fascinating to those who are engaged in it, neither desires nor deserves the attention of others. -+E.M. Forster, "Howards End"

Perhaps so. Still, I wouldn't want him as *my* leader.

Gosh, since he didn't make a distinction, I guess he wants to kill Christian Pakistanis too. Why does he hate Christians so much?

According to this website, Christian Pakistanis dress in bright clothes to celebrate the birth of the Christ Child.

Imagine having a leader with such narrow interests. Hitler murdered six million Jews but also branched out and murdered lots of Gipsies and homosexuals. If this British National Party leader wants to get anywhere in this world, he's going to have to broaden his hate. Maybe he could start threatening people from Iceland.
