Can I say,


(a) The rain drops /dropped into /in the pail.


(b) The ran water / rainwater was collected in a pail.


(c) We collected the rain / raindrops in a pail.


(d) The rain / rainwater is in the pail.


(e) The rain fell into the pail.


(f) We can collect rain / rainwater using (/ in) a pail.

b. rainwater

c. rain or rainwater  - this refers to the larger quantity

d. Some not the because we can't talk about all the rain, but the sentence sounds a little awkward because the context is missing

e. correct

f. both are correct.
