Dear All,

I am trying to translate a recommendation letter from a non profit gallery to a company(foundation) to help an artist to ask for a scholorship.

The letter is to show that this gallery supports her research and to prove that she is permitted to participate the gallery's program.

It would be great if someone can help me translate as I am not too confident in English writing.

note: All the names of person, company and organization are not real.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Tag art gallery is a non-profit, artist run organization in *** established to provide a fertile and creative environment for artists and to foster knowledge and communication about the arts. We introduce emerging artists in various media to the public through an ongoing exhibition schedule and a series of readings, perfomance and artist talks.

We, Tag art gallery support Ms. Chen's theme and the direction of her research which is trying to re-model the structure of human reception of aesthetics by investigating how it has been traditionally applied to works of art.

Also we acknowledge her strong motivation in studying the methodology of our organization, the art market and management (art-in-residence, a non-profit gallery, open studio etc...). It would be our pleasure to welcome her to our space and participate the program. She is able to pursue her research while learning our management based on our missions for one year starting from 1st April 2006 to 30th March 2007.

We make a petition to grant a bounty to Ms. Chen.
Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely yours,

It would be great if someone can look through this letter and advice me how I could improve it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,

This is basically good and I've just tidied up one or two areas for you.

Dear nona the brit,

Thank you so much for your reply and the advice.
Those things like commas and the difference between 'faithfully' and 'sincerely' , which I never knew are quite important in formal writing, I think.

I compared my letter and yours, and made me learn a great deal. I will try to write a better letter in the future!

Thank you again.

Yours sincerely,

Yuuki
