Hi guys,

Am I right in thinking that if I wanted to say I have read a good book, it would be read (even though you say it like 'red')?

Thanks in advance!

Sure, you're right! Red is a colour not a verb Smile

Am I correct in thinking that a verb is a doing word e.g. driving?

a verb is a doing word
Most of the time, yes.  But there are also verbs that don't do much!  (know, think, be)

Thanks CJ - so the only time you would use red (instead of read) is if you were talking about a colour? And read can be pronounced like red sometimes (like in my example above)?

Yes, if you write 'red' that is a colour.

'Read' is pronounced like 'red' when it is in the past forms (simple past, past participle) Smile
